Four commitments, built into the systems

These are not values on a wall. Each one is a gate, a data structure or a refusal that runs in production, and each has an essay that shows the failure that motivated it.

Evidence before eloquence

Every figure resolves to a source. Citations must resolve to a downloaded document body. Fluent text without a trail is not intelligence.

Movement and confidence are different numbers

How much something is changing and how much the evidence entitles us to say so are measured separately and never merged.

A trend score says how much something is changing. A confidence score says how much the evidence lets you claim it. Merging them produces a number that means nothing.

When two sources disagree, both values are shown. Resolution is a human act, recorded.

Inquiry over prediction

We present questions, hypotheses and the evidence on each side. Certainty is not generated.

Why questions come before research

Roughly four in five organisational questions seek confirmation. A study that answers them thoroughly produces a large report and a poor decision.

A model behind three APIs is not intelligence. Intelligence is what survives these four tests.
